Alex Fowler is in a difficult position after the Sons of Garmadon fell. He blames it on Kai and his friends but he's powerless when he is locked up in Kryptarium.

Rune is curious about Alex and wants to rewrite this first impressions in hope that he could help him change but if isn't easy at first, Alex is very different person to work with. But he doesn't want him to be alone in this -the more he gets closer the more he is questioning his own morals.

They have to tolerate each other- Rune offering a deal Alex simply cannot refuse: A way to erase his criminal record and disappear forever- in the end leaving him with no noice.

The two are forced into a "Marriage of Convenience" and Alex has to get used to a partner like Rune while also facing up to the consequences of his past actions. Relationships past and recent, revisited. Connections rebuild because the skeletons in Alex's closet are coming out of the shadows.
