Cassie

I want to share the story of Cassie, a character who embodies my exploration of femininity. She represents my beliefs, experiences, and aspirations. While expressing myself verbally has always been challenging, I find solace in writing. I chose to covey her perspective, not mine, to connect with femininity in a way that goes beyond my encounters.
Cassie is a young woman from the American South who embraced her femininity in a society that often ridiculed her for her womanhood. Her story unfolds against the backdrop of the 1940s when gender roles and societal norms were more rigid. Despite the societal pressure to conform, Cassie embraces her femininity with resilience, a trait that continues to inspire us today.
