BLADESTORM is a 2024 fantasy adventure story written by Billy Benner and Mike Solomon, the first installment in Benner's Windy, Mysteries of the Kung Fu Whistler trilogy. In the story, Windy--a musical Pitch for the Music Guild, joins the Banned, a group of outlawed musicians on a journey through J5EL-the Jurisdiction of the Five Elements to save Paris Shoes who has been captured in Aplot Fardel's Ice Machine and frozen. It is their mission bring harmony back to J5EL one song at a time.
In the Jurisdiction of the Five Elements. Aplot Fardel strictly controls the people's beliefs and teachings, under the authority of the Fardel Cartel. Here, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome has spread across the land, leaving no one with the ability to store energy. Everyone's exhausted. Fardel accepts stewardship of the ancient technology known as the Ice Machine. With his new power, he announces a distinction between different types of energy and calls High Coherent Informa a fantastical resource that the universe requires to function and is central to the mythology of Fardel's story, and immediately important to the political control that Fardel exercises when he outlaws music and other artistic artifacts in J5EL associated with Low Coherent Informa!
