This is a story about Katrina Blade Fuentes Ostega. Kat had an amazing life, until she turned 5. Her father, Phill, was drinking and driving again. He lost control of the wheel and crashed. Kat and Phill survived. But not her mother, Sarah. Since then Phill has made Kat's life miserable. Kat gets bullied at school, and abused at home. Her best friend is Andy Biersack (in the story Andy still isn't in a band, and both Kat and Andy are 16) Andy knows how hard Kat's life is, he tries to make it better. Kat on the other hand doesn't know how to handle things anymore. She's about to break, until something happens to her father. Is she free from him? Is her life gonna get worse? Hi. My names Lizzie, I'm 19 and I have no friends what so ever. Why? Because I'm an outcast. No one seems to like the way I dress or the music I listen to. Katrina Mars has always had a special connection with her older sister, Keeley, who graduated the year Katrina was in eighth grade. That connection was the same kind of love for pop punk/alternative rock music and their desire to be happy helping one another and others. The two had always been best friends as sisters, and they had always been there for each other. Keeley was even the only friend Katrina ever had, even after she went off to college. Ever since Keeley left for college (which is eight hours away from Katrina's home), Katrina has felt lost, confused, lonely, and sad, not knowing what to do at all with no one to turn to. About five months after Keeley left, at a doctor's visit, Katrina discovers that she has been diagnosed with depression. Although this disappoints her, it is not surprising... For the next couple of years, her parents have become worse and worse towards her, mentally abusing her because of the music she likes, the way she dresses, and her normal personality. This worsens her depression, and being ignored and lonely doesn't help. This is all until she meets Sam Browman, a kid in school who is a lot like her: dresses "emo," listens to "emo" bands, sings and plays a lot of instruments, and goes through troubles at home. Who knows what may happen to these kids who connect through both having troubles at home? This story is set in the year 2011, when My Chemical Romance was together (before the breakup and reunion).
