Luke isn't entirely comfortable with his sexuality - and on top of that, he's crushing on Zayn Reed, the mysterious social outcast. He feels like he has to hide both of these things from his distant dad, helicopter mom, and extremely straight football bros. He's overwhelmed with being quarterback for the Phoenixes and starts falling behind in classes, and Zayn is assigned as his peer tutor.
Zayn is in trouble with his school for vandalizing the football field bleachers. As an alternative to suspension, he is asked to work as a peer tutor. He's fine with that, until he is assigned to work with Luke Eckenrode, a huge jock whom Zayn definitely isn't attracted to.
As the two grow closer, and the lines between "friend" and "something more" begin to blur, they each have to decide - is this relationship worth pursuing, or do they need to put their love on the sidelines?
