Prelinsa, a young half-foxgirl, has a tough upbringing - a sickly body, a widowed mother, and a low quality of living. Despite this, she has a strong fighting spirit. She has heard stories that the Path of the Phoenix - a line of legendary magic - can help cure her illness, and allow her to become a Phoenix Warrior who helps others in need. However, the Path of the Phoenix is considered dangerous to learn, and is only taught by a select few in House Silvermoon - an old group of powerful mages. Even if Prelinsa gets her once in a lifetime chance to learn, she will be faced with enemies - not just from the outside, but from within House Silvermoon itself...
