"That red string of fate is out there and it's waiting on you to find the other end. Your soulmate." Shisui Uchiha said these words many times a day at his job. Little did he know that one day he would be saying it to his own destined soulmate. When Madara Uchiha was fired from Uchiha Enterprises, he knew what he had to do; he had to make more money than them. Best them in all ways. The leading solution to that was to make a company called Heart Search Inc.. He and his employees helped people find their 'soulmates' so to say. Whether Madara believed in soulmates really didn't matter, what mattered is that any lonely, desperate woman or man would pay hundreds or even thousands of dollars for his help. Shisui Uchiha is a prodigy at his job. He can manipulate people into thinking they have found the one. And even though he tries his best to pair people off with their soulmates, there are those times that he can't. The guilt gets to him, but his great uncle Madara always persuades him that mess ups are necessary for improvements. He reminds him that people pay them for their help. So, really. What happens when a supposed mess up leads to a fate that changes everything? Will he travel that string of fate to the end or will he give up midway and say it isn't worth it? "Welcome to Heart Search Inc.. We guarantee that we will find you your soulmate." ///// Modern AU. Take note, reader's feelings and actions may not always match your own. I mean I made her up. Also language, mentions of alcohol and possible smut scenes. Read at your own risk, or whatever lol \\\\ HUGE CREDIT to @WendyMallari81 for making this beautiful cover! ;3 \\\\

She had wasted years chasing a dream that was never meant to be. Sasuke Uchiha is dead-killed by Naruto in their final battle. Sakura Haruno should hate him for it. She should blame him, curse him, and despise him for breaking his promise. But she can't. Because deep down, in the hollowed-out remains of her heart, she knows the truth: Naruto was never the one who failed her. She was the one who failed him. Once, he had been hers to claim-the one boy who saw her, recognized her, and cherished her without hesitation. But she had turned away, blind to what she had until it was gone. And now, as she watches him in absolute love with another-with the fire, devotion, and tenderness she once craved-Sakura is left to drown in the weight of her mistakes. For once, she reaches out to the only friend she has left. But as the hours pass and the truth becomes unbearable, one question lingers in the cold Konoha air: What does a person do when there's nothing left to hold onto? Tonight, under the quiet glow of Konoha's bright lanterns amongst the cold winds, one last mistake waits to be made. Canon Divergences: Sakura never trained under Tsunade, never reached her full potential, and remained a low-tier kunoichi under Kurenai's genjutsu tutelage. Her obsession with Sasuke only worsened over the years. Naruto, no longer the boy who once begged for her affection, is soon to be Hokage and devoted to Hinata, the soon to be Hyuga clan head, the woman he truly loves. As the past and present collide, Sakura is forced to face the life she could have had-and the one she threw away.
