The story follows Elizabeth "Lizzie" Olsen, a sharp, enigmatic college professor who is known for her icy demeanor and professional approach to her work. Though respected by her students and colleagues, her personal life is complicated, haunted by a past abusive relationship with Robbie. Lizzie has buried her emotional trauma deep inside, presenting herself as a stoic, controlled figure, especially around her students, like Amren, whom she tutors personally.

Amren, one of Lizzie's students, feels a strange attraction toward her professor despite Lizzie's cold exterior. During their tutoring sessions, Amren finds herself drawn to Lizzie's strength and mystery, which only deepens as they spend more time together. Lizzie, on the other hand, remains professional, though Amren's presence sometimes challenges her guardedness. There are hints of unspoken tension between them, but Lizzie keeps her emotions in check, even as she becomes aware of Amren's feelings.
