Audrey Blessing was a respectful young girl, who mostly kept to herself. She was kind, and though most were mutters, she always used her manners. Any ordinary girl who was like her would've been well respected. However, Audrey was not ordinary. Following the death of her parents, her last living family members, the girl became homeless and only the age of 14. It was her choice to be homeless, by running away from her house in Charlottetown a day after her parents' death in hopes to leave any haunting memories of her past life and family behind. Audrey travelled for a few days, and eventually ended up in a town called Avonlea.
When Audrey arrived in Avonlea, she set herself two rules: to never be seen, and to never find any form of love. The girl couldn't bear to lose anybody else. She lasted only a few days with the first rule, and a little longer with the second. However, both were broken by the same boy. Gilbert Blythe.
When Gilbert Blythe was in the woods, walking to school on his first day back after traveling with his sick father, he saw Audrey sitting down and reading a book, with her back leaned against a tree. He asked her why he hadn't seen her around before, to which she explained that she was new to Avonlea- and was careful not to mention her lack of family or home. After a few moments of talking, Gilbert insisted that Audrey should attend school with him, seeing as she was practically a person of Avonlea now. Audrey told him that she probably wouldn't be attending, to his disappointment. There was no way anyone else could see her. Although, not all minds stay the same. And Audrey's? Well, her's was known to change quite a lot.
What challenges might Audrey face in school? Or, better yet, in Avonlea itself?
