Peculiar.

To most peculiar is a strange word. A word they would describe as weird or scary. Not to my grandmother though. To her, being peculiar was a gift or a blessing. She always told me about a home she lived in as a girl with these children that had these peculiar abilities. I thought it was all a bunch of fairytales. That was until I met the children myself. I even fell in love with one.
