Jasmine Coleman thought she survived the worst life has to offer. Born in a city like Crowbury, growing old enough to escape is a blessing. But even with the distance she put between herself and her city, she could not remove its grip on her. And when the life she ran from gives her a painful blow, stopping her on her track. Jasmine has no choice but to stop running and face the street.

Khalil Coleman has been sheltered his whole life, or as sheltered one can be living in a city like Crowbury. But everyone knows by thirteen the street came calling. And one way or another it gets an answer.

Darien has been at war with the city he was born in his whole life, and he's not afraid to stand toe-to-toe with it. Which directed his career path, being a police officer. He fights every day to free his city from the grasp of the drug lords and gun violence that plagues it. And he'll continue to do so to protect those he loves. He'll die on the battle field before he calls quit.
