After her dad, Richardson, wakes up, they go for a walk to visit the nice old lady down the block. She only speaks French, though, so Mira never knows what she's saying. But one day, her dad starts acting... Funny. He smells weird, and isn't talking right to the lady. Is Mira's world really perfect after all?

As I leave, the cold British wind greets me. I zip up my sweater, and start walking home. Thanks to my parents, I don't have a car. "You're too irresponsible for a car, Courtney.
