Her hand flew out and she slapped him across the face. She could see the slight surprise in his eyes before those green eyes narrowed at her. The look held within would have been enough to send her running if she were a lesser woman, but she was not scared of him.
Synn advanced on her, his hand shooting out to wrap around her neck tightly. Instinctively she went to hit him again, but he caught her hand. When she tried with her other one, he simply blocked it with the arm of the hand he had wrapped around her throat.
He was fast in shifting them around and Nyela found herself leaning over his desk, with his grip on the back of her neck.
"You'll pay for that." He whispered in her ear.
