Annie is 28, recently divorced, and just started volunteering at the JFK Library and Museum. While her goal was to make new friends, she wasn't expecting one of those friends to be Caroline Kennedy's son; Jack Schlossberg.

Neither Annie nor Jack knows what they want in life, so as their friendship grows, so does their confusion. As things get more complicated, choices have to be made, and feelings have to be hurt. Will they get there, or will stubbornness and the fear of losing a solid friendship hold them back from what they want?

The Trouble Is

57 parts Complete

Annie has a list for everything. At two notebooks a year since kindergarten, she has thousands of lists stored in her perfectly aligned closet. There's List #27: How to Go Unnoticed in Class. And List # 93: What I Want in a Boyfriend. But let's not get ahead of the story. This is the story of List #92: The Summer of Katie and A. Annie's life is a hot mess, and not in a sexy magazine cover kind of way. It's a no boyfriend, seriously legit OCD, mother has cancer kind of mess. Annie wants the happily ever after, while her best friend, Katie, just wants to shrug off her virginity ASAP-something Annie just can't even. When unexpected tragedy occurs, it's worse than anything she ever imagined. The Summer of Katie and A becomes the Seven Terrible Things I Wish Had Happened Instead. This is a story of family, friendship, personal quirks, first love, tragic loss, and resolve.
