Surviving the Apocalypse

In this Jschlatt-centric zombie apocalypse AU, a man and his cat set out to find his dumbass friends in a stupidly unsafe location while fighting off bloodthirsty zombies and keeping his recently-widowed neighbor alive. On the way, he picks up a couple of survivors, one of whom is chronically sick and attracts zombies with his coughs; discovers his neighbor is suffering from internalized trauma; and, worst of all, has to wear a neon-teal-and-orange cat backpack everywhere he goes.

Hell, it would've been so much easier to just let himself get eaten on day one.
