In the documentary I am crafting, I intend to illuminate the multifaceted mental, emotional, and physical experiences of Asian workers navigating life in a foreign land, particularly within the context of Poland. Drawing upon my personal experiences and those of my fellow Asian colleagues, this documentary aims to serve as a poignant exploration of resilience and adaptation, offering both inspiration and a sense of solidarity to Asian workers who find themselves grappling with the challenges of living and working far from home. This analysis will delve into various dimensions of the Asian experience, highlighting the profound adjustments necessitated by cultural and environmental shifts in areas such as food, daily routines, behavioral adaptations, and, most notably, the formidable language barrier that often stands in the way of effective communication and social integration. In the Polish workplace, where English is not universally spoken, the isolation engendered by linguistic differences can exacerbate feelings of stress, frustration, and depression-emotions that are compounded by broader familial issues and the pressures of factory work. The research conducted by the American Psychological Association has documented common struggles faced by foreign workers; however, the specific context of Eastern Europe, and particularly Poland, presents unique challenges that merit closer examination. The path to adjustment can be prolonged and fraught with difficulties as new arrivals attempt to familiarize themselves with the Polish language and culture.
