Tristian Garfield was a boy that practically grew up in the saddle. His family lived on an cattle ranch, which was owned by one of his relatives. Tristian was given his first horse at the age of seven and named his horse Meriwether after hearing the name come up before. He loved his old boy with all of his heart, and couldn't come to buying another horse. One day, his entire life changed, he tacked up Meriwether like he always did, but the two of them had an accident. Leaving Tristian in rubbles, and Meriwether dead. Due to his parents job, they had to move to Ireland, and seeing it as an opportunity for Tristian's old scars to heal, they brought him along. It was summer, so he had no school, but he longed to ride again. His parents signed him up for a horse summer camp, and if Tristian liked it, they'd transfer him to the riding academy that hosted it. However, Tristian would need to learn how to re-ride after the accident. He'd also need to learn how to do a new discipline, eventing. The question was, could Tristian do it? With the help of his new friends, he hoped he would be able to overcome his trauma and ride once again.

Swayde is your typical, rugged cowboy. His smile was enough to melt any girls heart, his eyes made it seem like the sun was always shining, even in the worst storm, his square jaw line accented his dark beard, his body thick with muscles. His physical features and build were intimidating at times, and didn't always match his laid back, easy going, gentlemanly personality. Swayde never thought he would fall for feisty Reagan, and even more so, Reagan never thought that she would fall for him. They end up in this unexpected whirlwind relationship, and everything is hunky dory until Reagan finds out a secret from Swayde's past that would forever change the way she looked at him; a secret he kept from her for over ten years. Confiding in her grandma, Reagan finds out that her grandparents knew the secret all along too. How could the people she thought loved her hurt her so bad and keep this big of a secret from her for so long? When tragedy strikes back in Wyoming, Reagan is forced to move back to the town she swore she would never step boot in again, thus leaving her new life in Montana behind. Through God, can Reagan find a way to forgive the people who hurt her, or will she forever consider Alpine Ridge "Heartbreak Town?"
