Some Horses

Josie Brett, a head-strong, 26 year old, pure, hard working. Dedicated to: her family home, her horses, and winning the title of world champion in the show ring, nothing can distract her from practices and the care of her family.

Kade McDown, a 28 year old, tattooed covered, chain smoking, burning rubber, wondering cowboy, finds himself tagging along with his best friend to his Kansas home town where tan blonde fully catches his eye, and he wasn't talking about the horse.

"I can't afford a distraction Kade. If...... if I don't win this, I will be homeless."

He stared at me, it was a blank stare as if he thought I was playing some joke on him. I clenched my teeth hard, I wish he would just say something.

Hell anything at this point. I sighed heavily and just shook my head, "you better go, my brother is already itching to get back out on the road again."

I turned away from him and he didn't stop me, I was walking out of his life and he didn't stop me.
