Verandering en groei zijn belangrijk, maar zoals Leo Tolstoy zei: "Iedereen wil verandering, maar niemand wil veranderen." Of toch iets in die aard. Maar het is er wel, dat vuur - die wil - om te veranderen. Er is iets in je binnenste waarvan je voelt dat je het anders wilt aanpakken, dat je het anders moet aanpakken om echt gelukkig te zijn. En daar wil je voor gaan.
Wat mij hierin geholpen heeft, is me op één ding tegelijk richten. Ik koos één overtuiging waar ik op vertrouwde en liet dat de basis zijn van mijn gedachten. Bij iedere reflectie gebruikte ik diezelfde overtuiging om te onderzoeken wat ik dacht of voelde. Het was het veranderen van mijn perspectief dat uiteindelijk mijzelf veranderde.
Omdat je aangaf dat je met een innerlijke strijd zit, deel ik graag met jou de dingen waar ik me de afgelopen jaren op heb gefocust. Deze simpele inzichten hebben me geholpen om de rust en het geluk te vinden waar ik vandaag op vertrouw.
Ik zei het deze week nog: ik heb het gevoel dat ik al evenveel geluk heb mogen ervaren als sommige mensen op hun tachtigste.

Bliss. Delight. Contentment. Euphoria. Elation. Joy. Glee. Felicity. Jubilation. These are all words synonymous to the word happiness. But what is true happiness? Happiness is that feeling of butterflies fluttering around in your chest, trying to break out. Happiness is that invisible fluid rushing in your veins, making you shiver in the most wonderful way.
