After her grandfather's untimely death, seventeen-year-old Madeleine Pilgrim was given the mundane task of going through his belongings in his basement. She was never particularly close to her grandfather; he was a quiet, drawn-in man who had preferred to stay inside his rickety house with her grandmother, even after she passed away. Madeleine didn't expect to find anything interesting in the old cellar. And yet, on that fateful evening, she found herself unwittingly invited into a twisted world with danger lurking around every corner.
