Bian Yanmei has been following Yan Wushi for a long time.

He has seen this man, who is as much a father to him as he is a teacher, at his best and worst, in his glories and struggles. No doubt, Bian Yanmei has grown up sharing the same view of the world and human beings with his Master. At some point, he thought he knew everything there was to be known about this man.

Thus it confuses him so when his observation detects slight changes in Yan Wushi that have never happened before.
