Maeve Ziegler, born on July 9th, 2000, is the eldest sister of Maddie and Mackenzie Ziegler. From a young age, Maeve was regarded as the best in everything she did: the best sister, the best student, and, above all, the best dancer. She quickly rose to become Abby's top student, setting an almost impossible standard for everyone around her. Maeve was the dancer everyone wanted to be, the one to beat, but rarely could anyone come close.

Even her own sisters, Maddie and Mackenzie, felt the pressure of living in her shadow. Though they loved Maeve, both girls longed to outshine her, if only to prove themselves to Abby and their mother, Melissa. Abby had her favorites, and it was clear that Maeve was her golden child. The challenge of surpassing Maeve became a driving force for Maddie and Mackenzie, but no matter how hard they tried, Maeve's talent seemed untouchable. It was rare for anyone, including her sisters, to defeat her in competition, leaving Maeve at the top, admired and envied by everyone in the dance world.
