Twenty-year-old Antoun is overweight and wispy haired. He covers up his insecurities with an outgoing and humorous personality, but this isn’t enough to charm Stephen, a freshman Antoun has had his eyes on since the beginning of the year. Stephen is the total opposite of Antoun: a wavy-haired loner that looks to thick books for comfort. Stephen pushes away anyone that gets near him, so there’s no way Antoun can even talk to him.
Will this unlikely pair discover a connection or will their efforts be put to waste?

Sariah's first year at Clark University is supposed to be about new beginnings, independence, and finding her path. But as she steps into the unknown, she finds herself caught between the expectations of who she *should* be and the person she's beginning to uncover beneath the surface. Her journey of self-discovery takes an unexpected turn when she meets Mercedes, her eclectic, Afrocentric, crystal-loving roommate who introduces Sariah to a side of her culture she's never fully explored. Mercedes' unapologetic embrace of her black roots and spiritual practices forces Sariah to confront the parts of her identity she's kept hidden or ignored, opening her eyes to a deeper connection to her culture. At the same time, Sariah finds herself paired with Drew, a mysterious and artistic classmate, for a challenging art project. Initially, Drew seems like just another classmate-but as their collaboration deepens, Sariah begins to see him in a different light. With Drew, she finds herself questioning more than just her art; she begins to wonder if she's ready to open her heart and take a leap into something more than just a creative partnership. Sariah navigates the messy, beautiful, and transformative process of learning who she really is, embracing her culture, and discovering that sometimes, the path to self-awareness is more about the people we meet than the answers we seek. A tale of friendship, love, and self-empowerment, this coming-of-age story is a celebration of what it means to find your roots while forging your own identity.

"I hate you," she whispered softly, as if the words were a secret meant more for her than for me. "I know, baby." A subtle smile played on my lips as I spoke, and I gently buried my head in the warmth of her neck. "And it better stay that way." ♡ He met his match. A person unwavering to his dirty antics merely because of his popularity and the constant fulfillment of his desires. Perhaps that's what fueled his resentment toward her. She refused to be one of his "fans". She fought back, talked back, and boldly rebuked him. She provoked him, opposed him, leaving an indelible mark on his ego. He loathed her for it. Why couldn't she play the submissive pawn or step aside? In turn, she despised his inflated ego and the way he believed the world revolved around him. Their rivalry extended beyond mere dislike, permeating through academics, sports, and the rich tapestry of cultural endeavors.
