It was a regular afternoon when they attacked. Kids playing in they're white picket fences with Dads grilling in the background. Moms in their kitchens, scolding the Dads for swinging the kid in the air "One too many times" Not for me though. I knew they were going to come. I've named them "The Bad ones." I took the liberty of naming them, seeing as I'm the only human left, as far as I know anyway. I was hiding out at the time in a secluded area, known as Costco. Cement walls, life times supply of food. When the bad ones attacked, they all fled out the doors, screaming that it was the end, and for them I guess it was.
I'm lucky though, one day I was walking around the shop and wandered over to the doors, swearing I heard something. I looked out the window and there was this beautiful sleek black cat. Some people believe they bring bad luck, but for me it was good luck. Now I just sit here in solitude, with my cat Sammy, waiting out our days, reading books. Look at me, 21, has a cat, and single with an apocalypse going on.
