"Right, of course" I said automatically, my voice too even as she exhaled 

"Will and I were... taking a break for... a short amount of time" she hesitated, as if unsure how to phrase it

"But we're working things out. I have a son, Y/n. Maybe if things weren't so complicated, but today, we can't" she told me
