Art stood by the window staring out into the night as if searching for an escape. "Why can't you just let me go Mia?" Art's voice was barely above a whisper yet it cut through the silence like a knife. "This isn't love; it's a prison." I felt a surge of anger my heart pounding in my chest. "A prison? You think I'm keeping you here against your will? You could have left anytime Art!" He turned to face me his eyes filled with a mix of anger and desperation. "Every time I try you pull me back in. You twist my words manipulate my feelings. It's like I'm trapped in your web and I can't break free." My voice rose fueled by a toxic blend of fear and obsession. "I do it because I love you Art! I can't imagine my life without you. You're everything to me!" Art shook his head a look of sorrow etched on his face. "This isn't love Mia. It's control. You don't see it but you're suffocating me. And I'm drowning."
