Keaton became anhedonic; a once joyful boy, who unfortunately experienced various traumas, became frightened and disheartened. He turned into a young man with a neutral expression, searching for the legendary Pokémon of ideal and the strength to confront his difficult past and murder the cause of it. With his partner, Shade the Zorua, he intended to destroy Team Plasma's organization for good and end the tyranny of a man who desired absolute control over the Unova Region. He vowed never to lose a battle again in hopes of reaching strength that no Pokémon had ever seen.
