Abigor and Wolfgang, to the surprise of no one, are sent on a wild goose chase for the scrying stone of the great alchemist and Necromancer, Dr. John Dee.
By, Dr. John Dee himself. Who happens to be alive by the way.
Wolfgang Shanks, a forever world famous playwright revived and returned to this life to live it completely opposite of his first go at it, finds himself in pursuit of something absurd. Clearly for alternative motives than he was under the impression of. When Abigor has a plan, not even God knows what could happen.
Literally.
He's a demon.
He's sort of a vampire too but that's a story for another day... and the fault of one Gilles des Rais. It was necessary. Shit happens. Turns out demons can die too, though they're certainly not in the habit of it.
On this mission to find Dr. Dee's damn stone which Dee could easily make a new one of, Abigor has a secret agenda. One that, of course, ends up in chaos involving a cult leader's secret being exposed. What could go wrong?
Abigor can't do anything without making a scene and demon or not, he's something special.
Don't get him wrong, doing "the right thing" isn't usually on his list of things to do, but once in a while... well, ever since spending so many years with Wolfgang and the rest of the gang, he's not the same monster he once was. And when a trapped soul has to sit and watch such a betrayal, Abby might spontaneously decide to crash a sèance to prove a point, set a spirit free, and sometimes accidently become the desired new cult leader.
Like I said, with Abigor... shit just happens.
