Gerard and Frank thought they'd be together forever, until an accident happens, leaving Frank for dead and Gerard devastated. 

Gerard thought he'd never be able to have Frank with him again, until he is met by a spirit. 

This spirit brings Gerard some hope of getting Frank back, with a deal. Gerard has to kill the souls of a thousand evil men, so he can be back with his true love.
