I've been locked in this mysterious mansion for ten years. Cleaning and following the rules of a Lord whose face I've never seen. Rule 1: Don't walk the halls at night Rule 2: Never leave the property Rule 3: Don't ask about the Lord of the estate Once you leave the mansion, you can't come back. My mother tells me I should be thankful because only crime and death remain outside the gates after the war. Kelly stepped forward, watching as the eager man rushed forward, money in hand, dropping it on the table before he grabbed her. He could hardly wait to get her home before he started tearing her clothes off. The thing that followed was the pain. The suffering. The anxiety. It was sometimes too much for Kelly to bear, being beaten if she made a mistake, being starved if she talked back, and being raped nearly every night. It was all against her will and she fought to make it not happen, but it always happened. She couldn't stop it from happening, but maybe she could prevent it from ever happening again. Soon the side door to the van opened and I saw two people a man and a woman who had got out and came to talk to me. She doesn't get anything I'm saying. Its almost like I'm talking to a stranger. The thought shook Nicholas to his core because he's telling the truth. Katherine didn't believe him.
