Love works in mysterious and often crazy ways.

You never know when your heart will flutter for that one person. And you never know who it will be.

Ascelin Wilson learned this first hand.

She was your typical goth. Long black hair she kept in twin braids, her pale skin and stunning blue eyes. The spitting image of her grandmother and had a love and fascination with dark poetry, death, life, and the dark. Even something as strange as an animal skull was beautiful to her.

She grew up with her grandmother after parents were killed in a fire. Her grandma always told her to be kind, work hard, and most importantly, follow her heart. Her grandmother had lost her husband to a stroke 15 years ago and had been waiting until it was her time to go.

She told Ascelin that true love never dies, that you never know when it'll hit, but when it does, never let that love go, no matter what. She had taught her that there was beauty in everything, even in the dark and in the dead

After she left for college, she took her grandmother's words to heart. She attended college and did her studies while avoiding drama.

And that's when she met him.

The gifted goth man with a love of writing dark and romantic poems on campus who seemed to appear out of nowhere. They had all the same classes together and often sat next to each other. But he was always seen looking at her and writing in his journal. He was that quiet but hot guy that the girls were attracted to but where always harshly pushed away.

Then one day, they end up being partnered for an essay.

And from that moment on, they slowly get to know one another. They navigate a world where love isn't anything like movies say. Because the feeling can't be described.
