Keiko Tatarida, a teenage girl in post World War two Japan, does not have much to her name. Except the Chrysanthemum flower pin given to her by her grandmother, an antique item from the Taisho Era. But she also has a gambling addict for a mother, and soon their family is on the brink of ruin despite Keiko's father doing everything he can to help after returning from the front.
Desperate, her parents choose to do the unthinkable with their daughter. Keiko overhears them and runs away.
She very quickly finds herself in the most unlikely of places, Taisho Era Japan, doing something she could've never imagined herself doing:
Fighting demons.
With a new adventure at her feet, weird friends, and even weirder romances, Keiko isn't sure she'll live long enough to pass down this epic tale.
But she'll sure as hell try.
