"I didn't ask for this!" I glared at the ground as I kicked a stone down the path. Leaves crunched under my boots as we walked. Beside me, Rowan raised an eyebrow. "Nobody said you did." "Well, it sure feels like the universe has it out for me," My voice shook with frustration. "Every plan I make - Boom! Gone. Just like that." We stepped into a clearing, sunlight filtering through the trees. I paused, heart pounding. "I can't keep things that aren't my fault." Rowan shrugged, hands in pockets. "Maybe stop trying to fix it, then." I bit my lip, staring at the sky. "Maybe I should." *** In the heart of Harrowmoor, a quaint town nestled in the shadow of the mountains, old wounds fester and buried secrets stir. Magnolia Slate, a newcomer to the town, finds herself drawn into a web of ancient rivalries, whispered betrayals, and a mystery older then the town itself. As tensions rise and the past comes clawing back, Magnolia must decide if she will unravel the truth - or be consumed by it.

Rowan Irvine had always been told she was childish. Her room was lined with stuffed animals and drawn-on walls. But the summer of her senior year Rowan's parents decide to move to a "sweet little town in the middle of nowhere". With a town, new home, and no friends she thought she'd have to leave her childish ways behind and grow up. Be helpful, no more made up creatures or stories or adventures. But "middle of nowhere" meant by an enormous, looming forest. And "sweet" meant the town held more secrets than it's residents. And "no more stories" meant Rowan was about to become part of a story more dark and dangerous than she could have ever imagined. Perhaps more than she ever wanted to imagine. [This is a little experiment of mine. Hope you all enjoy! From now on, updates Sundays & Wednesdays. Formatted for mobile, so some spacing might look a bit weird on computers.]
