She never knew what the shadows were, all she knew was that they lived beneath her skin, pulsing beneath the surface. Maybe it was magic? Or perhaps a curse? Those shadows got Rae kicked out, and now barely scrapes by living in her small rundown apartment, and to top it off, her world is suddenly flipped upside down and she finds herself fighting in a war against a corrupt hierarchy. What if you were told that the heavens you believed to be pure weren't as beautiful as you thought? That the gods who created you would make your life a living hell? How did it happen that Rae is now fighting against the very things she was raised to love? She must learn to harness the curse that has pledged her for so long, hopefully before the enemy destroys her and everything she holds dear, but will the magic push her past her limit to insanity?
