Jae Miles is the nominated misfit of the school, running along with her older friends. Smoking weed and skipping classes. She's known for her distinct effort to just not give a fuck because when she did care, the woman was miserable. Especially because she's an eighteen year old lesbian stuck in a small town of millennial stereotypes who fear queers. Everyone knows it, she's the gay kid. The weirdo, maybe even creep. Jae has been smothered in judgment and glares of disgust ever since she was thirteen, people threw things. Wrote things. Wouldn't stop until they got the reaction they so desperately needed. Especially the snob that was Lyla Grains. Lyla Grains, oh what a woman. Rich, stubborn and bitchy. She's beautiful and strong willed, but is she really strong? Strong like Jae is? Or is she just insecure and weak, depending on the school hierarchy and the control she supposedly has over students to simply breathe. She needs it after all, so she can keep believing she's someone she's truly just not. She hates herself. Throwing up all of the time, constantly shopping with the friends she doesn't even like, popping setraline pills any chance she gets. Arguing with her Mother, an arrogant narcissist who just can't put the wine down. Begging her father to acknowledge her, another weakling who couldn't handle higher society's expectations so bailed on the pair of them. Now she's living a life as someone she can't even recognise at times. And every time she peeps Jae Miles living the careless life, rebellious and flirtatious. Promiscuous. Jae was free, and Lyla couldn't stand it. And so she ruined her, tried to anyways. But was that really the reason she hated Jae?

Alex Thompson was due to marry her high school sweet heart Eric Ramirez. Period. That's it. It's about as exciting as her life ever got really. She had a job, a good job but an unconscious reality was that she was bored. She had her back blown out once every three months, if that, and an overbearing mother who made her life hell. *enter Mitch* Eve 'Mitch' Mitchell. An outgoing, strong minded, independent, raging homosexual, lover to all, charming British soul. They meet by accident after a tough day at the office for Alex. A mistaken identity was all it took for a tiny little kiss. A moment blown all out of proportion for the Christian-bred Miss Thompson and her life turns more miserable than she anticipated for every time she turned around...Mitch was there behind her. Something about Mitch was new and fresh and her soul was just what Alex needed (little did she know). Secrets from the past are brought to the surface. A sad ending to a young lady's life. A realisation that family isn't always blood related. Alcohol isn't a medicine. Violence isn't a key. Hearts were never meant to be broken. Two things to take away: you never know what is going on in someone's head and the most important thing...you never know what happens behind closed doors. A/N just a random story about two people who meet accidentally. Plays with gender norms and very inclusive of LGBTQ (being a member myself). Could be triggering I'm not sure as some identity questions are thrown around. It does include smoking, drinking, some homophobia, profanities, violence and smut. Also anything in brackets with A/N means authors note and that's just me leaving a little comment. Enjoy...
