Danielle Berkshire was never meant to survive. Nicknamed 'Black Widow' for her lethal precision, she was a ghost to the world. The streets are overrun by the infected, and the dead walk among the living. As a brutal zombie apocalypse unfolds, Danielle must navigate the ruins of a society teetering on the edge, careful to conceal the monstrous abilities that make her a threat to both the undead and the survivors. In the wastelands of a crumbled city, she stumbles upon a group seeking shelter at a quarry only to reunite with Lori, her despised stepmother, whose presence threatens to unravel the carefully controlled persona Danielle has built.
As the infection spreads and the horrors of the new world close in, Danielle must confront old wounds, buried betrayals, and a truth more terrifying than the apocalypse itself. To survive, she must wield her dark gifts in secret because in a world overrun by death, her power could make her the most dangerous monster of all.
She uses sarcasm and wit to keep her sane but how long can she hide the truth before it consumes her?
