In a quiet town nestled between the mist-covered mountains, there lived a woman named Alina. She had eyes like the twilight sky, always on the verge of darkness but never fully giving in. Her heart, however, was filled with a light that she shared with only one person-Elias.

Elias was everything Alina had ever dreamed of. He was tender, full of laughter, and his voice was like a lullaby that soothed every ache in her soul. They had met one fateful autumn evening when the world was painted in shades of amber and gold. From that moment, it was as if their hearts were tied by invisible threads, pulsing in perfect harmony.

For years, they were inseparable. Their love was not loud but deep, like the roots of an ancient tree, unseen but unshakeable. But as with all things touched by time, something in Elias began to change. Alina could feel it first in his gaze-his eyes no longer lingered on her face, and the warmth in his smile began to cool. He would sit in silence for hours, staring into the distance as though he was searching for something beyond her reach.

Alina's heart began to sink into a darkness she couldn't escape. Every whisper of wind, every cold gust of air felt like an omen of the inevitable. She tried to pull him back to her-tried to rekindle the fire that once burned so brightly between them-but it was no use. The harder she tried, the more he slipped away, until one evening, he left. No words, no goodbye, only the fading echo of his presence in their home.

The days that followed were a blur. Alina wandered through the shadows of her life, haunted by the ghost of their love. The house that once echoed with laughter now felt like a hollow shell, every corner a reminder of what was lost. She would lie in bed, listening to the sound of the wind howling outside, feeling the darkness in her soul grow thicker with each passing night.

-- PROLOGUE "Let me get this straight. We have nothing in between us, except for the deal we made that day" he spoke in a monotonous tone. "I am the one carrying your name behind me; we are married. how can you say we have nothing in between us? Huh" She yelled at him, tears blurred her vision, and she spoke her heart to him. "For god's sake, this marriage was to save you! Can't you get that? I did not do it willingly, I do not love you!!" He yelled back at her, shattering her heart into pieces. "Why can't you just love me?" She spoke, as she cried the tears of hurt, and pain. Her heart thumped loudly due to the shivering sensation She felt all over her body. "I never made a commitment to you, or gave you any false hope, neither did i say that i love you. Did i?" He asked her, in a very cold tone. She looked at him through her teary eyes. It's getting difficult for her to even breathe. "It was your eyes, the damn eyes. Who gave me the false hope. They say, "Eyes speak the truth," but what about mine? Couldn't you feel the sincerity within them, expressing my deep affection for you? Why didn't you see the love shining in them? Was it too complex to understand? Couldn't you notice the warmth as they gazed at you? They search for you in every corner, If only you realized how they silently echoed the emotions I couldn't articulate. They say, "Eyes never deceive." But what about yours? They played a trick on me when they met mine, painting a facade of a world that wasn't real. They made me feel loved, Leading me into a belief that crumbled, louder than your spoken promises. Why did they betray me? Was it your eyes or you that masked the truth?" He stayed still, not moving or saying anything at her statement. --

(18+ EXPLICIT CONTENT) "Attract a lot of attention, huh beautiful?" His voice hit me like a wall, absurdly catching me off guard. It was deep, sensual, something any girl (or boy) could melt over. I was sort of speechless, yet trying my best to appear unafflicted. "Only the wrong ones." That was definitely drunken me talking, as I didn't usually have that much confidence. His lips twitched up into a smirk, expressing that he understood my comment. "Does that mean that I'm in that category?" My palms began to grow sweaty and my heart rate picked up, but otherwise my body remained relaxed, appearing completely fine. It similar to when you're on autopilot, completely withdrawn due to intoxication. "I suppose not," I crossed my arms, putting on this seductive persona just for him. This fueled his smirk, about to murmur another comment before I cut him off. "You'll have to show me, though." *** Amelia Hollis was a 23-year-old writer at one of the local publishing companies, assisting a very handsome man and writing articles left and right. Her and her best friend, Aviary, lived together in a cute little apartment off the central part of the city, yearning to create new memories and important moments. Amelia always lived for the moments, taking in every little detail and savoring it like it was her favorite meal. She was an optimist, hoping to change peoples lives with her dreams. James Vallette was a 34-year-old CEO, building his company from dirt with the help of his brother. He was a realist, not really having time to deal with dreams or even love. He knew this the night he laid eyes on Amelia. It was only casual; what harm could a one-night stand do? Oh yeah, he's her dad's boss.

Kala had always thought of herself as normal, but when the world ended, cleansed by a power most would fail to understand, she realized she was far from normal. That day, Kala awoke in a fog surrounded by a nothingness that permeated every pore of her body. The only sounds she could hear were her own ragged breaths in the vast and empty darkness. When the light finally returned, she found herself utterly alone and suddenly part of a struggle much bigger than she'd ever thought possible. With that struggle came something else...power. Power to control the elements. Power the likes of which she had only seen in movies or read about in books. Despite her disbelief, it remained...right there in the palms of her hands. Eventually Kala learned to use her power as it was intended. As she wandered the new world, she met others like herself, other Servants with similar abilities who understood the reason for the destruction...for the loss. And then, six years after her world turned upside down, she met him. A handsome stranger in a tiny town in the middle of the West Virginia woods - not a Servant - not like her. And certainly not the type of man Kala had expected to find herself falling for. But the man she met there turned out to be more than just a hero in her time of need. At her side, he would become a protector, leader, confidant, and so much more. Together, they would find themselves fighting a growing evil...a man like Kala, who had been granted power beyond words or description. He might have been a good man once, but his fall was nearly complete. And now he desired only to rule - not to heal. This man would lead a small army against them, but they wouldn't have to fight alone. There was another, more powerful force on their side...one that could change the course of the war to come.

Aurora sat in the passenger seat, her hands folded tightly in her lap. Her long, black dreadlocks cascaded down her back, swaying slightly with each bump in the road. Her chocolate skin glistened faintly under the dim light of the car, but she didn't notice. The world outside the window passed by in muted shades of gray and green, the trees thick with mist, the road winding up a steep hill that seemed to stretch on forever. Her mom was talking again, her voice upbeat and false. "This is for the best, baby. I know you don't think so now, but this place will help you heal. You're going to meet people who can understand what you've been through. You just need to open up. To let go of the past." Aurora clenched her jaw, feeling the heat rise in her chest. Her ex's house had been reduced to ash and rubble, the flames of her anger licking the air like something she couldn't control. But this-this place? It felt wrong from the start. The truth was, she didn't belong here. Not in the sterile hallways of Whispering Pines, not in the cold, uncaring arms of a psych ward, and certainly not under the watchful eyes of the people who had decided to send her away. "You'll see, honey," her mom continued, her voice syrupy sweet. "You'll get better. You'll be happy again." Aurora looked out the window, not trusting herself to speak. If only her mom knew the truth. The truth about how the fire had felt-how, for the first time in forever, she'd felt alive. She wasn't sorry. Not really. Aurora didn't know it yet, but this place would change her. Change all of them. And soon, the obsession would turn into something darker-something dangerous. They would kill for each other, lie for each other, and cross lines they never imagined. And in the end, none of them would be able to escape the pull. This was a quick one two it's got mistakes bc it was made in one night

Suhaib couldn't agree more with that statement, as he witnessed the horrific scene in front of him. He had been a complete fool; he had thought that he would be a good influence to his so-called friends, yet he had been unaware of the danger that lurked in the future. As the time had passed, he had realised that they were harmful, but never had a situation like this cross his mind; never had he thought that he would experience such a heart wrenching sight. The cold breeze swept past him, that caused the hairs on his nape to rise. The wind howled as if grieving along with him for the loss he experienced. The leaves rustled in the vicious storm. The clouds poured down their burdens, mourning along with him. He stared down at the horrific site. Her body was cold and lifeless, sprawled upon the floor, like a discarded piece of insignificant trash. His heart pounded wildly in his chest - the pain he experienced was so raw, he felt as if his very own heart had been torn out and trampled upon multiple times. He knew the image of her lifeless body and horrified face would forever be imprinted in his memory, and no matter how many years would pass, the pain would forever be embedded in his heart. He slumped down beside her cold body. Tears streaked his face, his vision blurred, his heart felt as if it was snatched out of his body; leaving him barren and hollow. He looked down upon her body that was stained in scarlet; her face had been mercilessly bruised and cut. The only girl he ever loved so dearly stared at him with lifeless, horror-struck eyes, drowning in a pool of her own blood.

Remember me? Few years ago... A night to remember. On a shallow road, with a seemingly never-ending rain pouring down heavily, and streetlights barely illuminating the place, silence seemed so right. It was an almost empty road but with two people. Few light rays hit them, making their silhouettes visible from afar. Drenched under the rain, the girl was standing like a statue. And in front of her was the boy, her long-term boyfriend. Her soul mate. The one she had been waiting for. But what is this? He smirked, finally breaking their silence. He told her 'it's over' so quickly, like they just played a game and she lost. He called it quits between her, and walked away without regret. His face, his gestures and his words were like spears stabbed into her soul. He didn't care. And being left alone, her shoulders shook and she covered her face with her hands as tears finally escaped from her eyes. Her knees felt numb and suddenly, she knelt down, still crying. Can you still remember me? I ask you this question. I was that girl few years ago. A fool, naïve girl who still believed that you're the one of the million. That I'm destined to only one man, a prince charming, and I believed it was you. But all of those were few years ago. My thoughts were changed. I began looking forward to an early death. The dream that I've always wanted to, a happy death, became impossible. How happy can I die, if forever, I will always carry and will not forget the memories and the pain you left me? But now my time has come. Time flew too fast. Few minutes more and I will leave Earth. Few short minutes more. I looked at the Seconds hand of the clock nearby. The clock is ticking. The time is running. I still have time to forgive you. Few more time to decide. But thinking about our past... will I still have the heart to forgive you to be able to achieve a happy death?
