A fanfic where three humans from earth get transported into the world of Shelter- a Visual Novel by Rausmutt.
Characters from the visual novel and their lore will be revealed, so expect spoilers.
It's also my first time actually writing a fanfic so also expect me to be amateurish, like a few mistakes regarding the lore slipping into the chapters.
My three OCs are, well, OCs. There will also be a few minor characters I added in that aren't in the VN so yeah.
Any other characters belong to Rausmutt.

Earth's been home to humanity since time immemorial. Considered omnivores, everyone keeps each other safe from those who aren't so kind. Animals keep us stable in many ways we can't understand thoroughly. However, a noticeable climb in missing cases was building up in certain countries. It laid a noticeable pattern. But there was nothing else that could be done. Until it escalated in North Carolina. But a typical routine patrol in another continent would bring catastrophic obstacles upon four individuals, where a standard investigation in New Zealand of a pursuit turned into a nightmare, discovering an anthropomorphic society before their eyes on accident. I Think I Was Someone Once
Lyrius isn't your average anthro. Sure, he's tall, has golden paws, and a strange symbol on his eye- but he also burns kitchens when he tries to cook, gets way too philosophical at random times, and sometimes just wants to nap his problems away This story follows his journey: from meeting friends who change everything, to falling in love in ways he didn't expect, to realizing the world (and himself) are a lot more complicated than they seem. There's action, romance, heartbreak, and also... a lot of cuddles. But fair warning: Lyrius's life isn't all fluffy moments. There's loss, betrayal, heavy choices, and enough emotions to make even a god cry (and trust me, he does). This book is by Lyrius (@LyriusTheDogDragon) This story includes themes of homosexuality, romance, depression, domestic violence, sexual harrasment, harsh language, rape, etc. And bits of NSFW consented sex here and there. ⚠️ Mature themes may show up. ❝ Heya! Lyrius here - well, technically, it's me writing about Lyrius, but you get the idea. This book is all about the lore of my main OC, which I've been carrying around in my head for ages. He's... complicated. Dramatic at times, other times clumsy, and sometimes way too soft for his own good. But he's also my favorite, so here we are. This story is 100% original (no copies, no nothing!) and it's been living rent-free in my head for quite a while by now. So I finally decided to sit down and write this first part out, and honestly? I'm just happy to finally share it. There'll be friendships, love, big battles, little moments, maybe some tears, maybe some laughs - basically, all the stuff that makes a story feel alive.
