Adam the Onmyoji

Adam the Onmyōji is a book series that chronicled the adventures of Adam Wong Takahashi, an Onmyōji or spirit master who is gifted with the craft of exorcism and has the unique ability to communicate, control and subdue spirits from the other supernatural realms.

Book One is based in Singapore and started with a mysterious, and horrifying, death at the home of a Singapore tycoon. The death shook the police who swiftly swung into full-scale investigation. However, the victim's clobbered demise drove police veteran Assistant Superintendent Visnu, who suspected there may be supernatural forces at work, to enlist the help of his friend, the Onmyōji Adam Wong-Takahashi to join the investigation.

Adam soon realizes that murder at the mansion is his greatest challenge. His initial investigation led him to an unnerving encounter with an unknown dark and ominous spirit, lurking in the perimeters of the Chua Mansion. Twice attacked and defeated as Adam moved from the human realm to the supernatural world to exorcise the dark spirit, he enlisted the support of his fellow Onmyōji, Kelly Nishimura.
Together, they began a deep investigation into the history of the mansion in a bid to quell the rise of darkness. As they plowed on, Adam discovered his assumptions about the dark spirit were wrong. His investigation led him to uncover a dark secret that would threaten to tear apart the tycoon's family.

With dogged determination and his powers, Adam eventually discovered the true identity of the murderer and resolved a decades-old mystery bringing peace and reconciliation.
