After a good deal of time off, I'm ready to try getting back at it again. I recognize that Book 1 has several pacing errors, typos, timeline errors and even paragraphs and chapters that flat out stop mid sentence, along with plenty of other things I want to fix at some point. While I work on re-identifying these problems and correcting them, I'd like to invite you to continue the story with me, which I shall now be writing one chapter at a time in real time, rather than posting months after I've already laid the chapter out. Thank you to those who waited patiently, and to those just joining LEUR on their adventure.
In this installment...Well hell, I have no idea what will happen, but I hope I come up with good stuff that will delight, impress, empower, and terrify. As always, this is a story of action, adventure, a little romance and alot of se-...Ok, no sex cause I don't think I can do that and my daughter's been reading Book 1, but it will be a good time!
As previously stated, this story is being written using some of the rules of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition, particularly for combat scenes and class features (the 2014 edition, not the 2024 edition, I will not be supporting Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast any more than I already am).

My mind scrambling to process what had happened as I felt rubble falling around me, surrounding me in darkness. I reached up, my arm stinging as I hit the hard wood table over me, which was keeping the rubble off me, miraculously. I wiped my forehead, sweat, and probably blood dripping down my arm and side of head as I reached for a nearby rock, trying to push on it, hoping that it might help me out of this disaster. "Mom? Betty?" I called, hoping for a response, only to get none. I didn't even get the slightest whimper from any of them. What the heck happened? "Mom?! Betty?!" I screamed this time, trying to push myself up onto my back, my leg killing me so much that I had to give up. I laid back down on the ground, placing my hand on the bottom of the table; anger, fear, confusion getting the best of me. I screamed as I banged my fists on the wood table. "MOM? BETTY?" Nothing. I was ready to bang on the wood again, but I flinched back when I heard the sound of moving rubble. Whoever it is was almost near where I was, and ... moving quickly. So, there's no possible way that it was a human. Shadow Wagner The Slayer - Do I Belong? (Book 1)
This story is complete, though incomplete. For elaboration, I have completed it how I wanted it, in the sense of me working and chipping away at it to get it printed off for my father to read, seeing as he wanted to read, edit, and attempt to get it published (He had called a publishing company the other day about it). Incomplete in the sense that I don't have all the scenes I really want now more than I did when I was in the process of writing it. For example, in the previous chapter one, there was a small scene that had Aaren, Travis, Loyd, Scott, Gabe, and Xander fighting in Lord Sylvie's house. I had changed it so that they moved outside, seeing as I imagined Sylvie's house as a small, quaint house, so it would only make sense that they all fought OUTSIDE instead of INSIDE. Also incomplete in the sense that I strongly dislike the way I wrote it. I've gotten some 'inspiration' from my dad about (spoiler) killing her in the end, so I came back to change it before we went into really editing the pages (grammar, spelling, etc). That's all I really wanted to communicate with you guys, so if you remember something specific about the previous book, I changed it because I disliked how it wrote it. A RANGER IS BORN
First off, this story was not written by me. I am posting it for a friend of mine, with permission of course. This took place in a Dungeons & Dragons game over 30 years ago. It is a about how one of the player characters got his start; Crentar Bronn. He is a human ranger of 1st level in this story. This is important to note, because it'll bring more perspective as you read the story. I was the DM (Dungeon Master) for this game. At the time, we were still in high school, which of course, gives away our age. lol I decided to have each character do it solo before they actually met up with each other. A teaser so-to-speak. Eventually, there was five player characters in the game. My friend who ran Crentar Bronn remembers this whole solo adventure to this very day in great detail. A few years after the game is when he wrote this story. We were recently reminiscing about 'old times' and he told me that he actually wrote it out as a story. He was then able to find it on an old hard drive & then sent it to me. I was very surprised at how good this is & how great his memory was from that adventure. I'm flattered that he was so inspired by it, that he turned it into a story! I hope you enjoy this early adventure of Crentar Bronn as much as we did. Perhaps, with enough comments & likes, he'll be inspired to write more chapters. THX
