In the world of Celestara, where gender is as fluid as music, Char struggles with her identity as an Elysian,an individual who embodies both male and female traits but identifies as female. Unlike most Elysian, who are athletic and outgoing, Char feels like an outsider, often hiding in the shadows of her insecurities. After facing a bitter rejection from the girl she's secretly loved for ages, Char decides it's time to reinvent herself.

During a family vacation in Eiralia, Char adopts a striking new look, one that demands attention. When she returns to school, her transformation propels her to the top of the social ladder, finally granting her the recognition she always longed for. But as the spotlight shines brighter, Char begins to wonder: Is she truly being seen, or has she slipped further into the shadows?

Jessica's perspective

Unlike Char, Jessica is content with being ignored, it gives her plenty of time to focus on things that really matter, her studies, her dreams and Char. Jessica has always liked her, she finds her openness and creative spirit a relief from the constant lack of mundaneness of the rest of her peers.

When she learns of Char's return from her summer vacation, Jessica is ready to wear her heart on her polkadot shirt and express her feelings to Char , but when Char walks into class on Monday mornings transformed and basking in newfound attention, Jessica's heart shatters, grappling with the realization that she may have lost Char before she even states her feelings.
