Emma Marie Johnson or Warrior, stubborn, athletic, sassy. The young teenage Australian is new to the small town of Broadwater. Being a tomboy, it's hard for Emma to fit in, but she soon discovers her people in a group who didn't want her at first.
Benjamin Franklin Rodrigues or Benny, the Hispanic baseball addict is the leader of a group that belongs to a Sandlot. The unofficial baseball team take refuge at an old baseball pitch in the middle of town. Benny befriends Scotty, the new kid at Broadwater High, who isn't as confident or as dimwitted as a lot of other people in the small town.
Emma and a new friend stumble across the pitch and that's when fate collides.

Benny Rodriguez never cared for girls in his time. He only cared for baseball, his family, and mostly his friends.
