My name is Allannah Harte. I live in the city, away from the infected. 2 years ago there was an outbreak of the Ember virus, and it was the scariest and craziest thing I have ever seen. Your eyes turn orange and you eventually go insane. But thankfully, the virus doesn't really hit, until you turn 18. When a child or adolescent is infected, it's not a big deal, other than the orange eyes, and being a little bit more irritable than the average person.

Firstly, A trigger warning for mental health/ self inflicted wounds when reading. you're only 18 years old. your name is zoe. you always had a love for the apocalypse but didn't think it would truly happen. and you slowly learn that nobody is who they say they are. Nobody is to be trusted. Things are gonna fall apart, and nobody can save us now. This book is being rewritten again and hopefully is better than the first and second time it was published. It's kind of cringe most of the way. Wrote it when i was like 13-14 years old or something and tried rewriting when I was about 16. Didn't work. Trying to rewrite it again at 20 but i don't think the first two books are saveable. Book three so far however is going well(i believe anyway). The second book has also been rewritten and will be rewritten again. now I'm working on finishing book three. All characters are mine but ellis is not I will be changing a lot of character names again in this rewriting process in all books, ellis being the biggest.
