Prie, is being sold off by her parents into marriage. Although she tries to do everything she can to prevent it they still ask nearly everyone in town to marry their daughter. Prie is afraid to get married because when she does get married they will cut off her wings, so she goes to pray in the fields. While she is in the fields the god of darkness approaches her and offers to marry her instead, so she won't get her wings cut off. So Prie, ends up marrying the god of darkness.
