Dawn Lancaster is high school student who faces challenges with depression. She has a mental breakdown at school, she chooses to talk to her trusted counselor about her issues. Unknown to her, that counselor will call her parents and authorities regarding her mental state. The decision with her well being are in the hands of the state due to her parents relinquishing their rights over her. Her parents were done trying to help her, they saw her as a lost cause and were exhausted trying figure out what could possibly help her. Dawn was evaluated and declared a harm to herself and others. She was involuntarily sent to Willow Springs behavioral Institution for the Mentally Ill. Will she be able to come to terms with her new life? Will she be able to prove that she can re-enter society as mentally stable individual or will she be stuck in there for the rest of her life?
