Kyren was nine when her sister was born and ripped from her mother's arms before she could hold her or name her. Instead, the baby grew up in skybox surrounded by men in guard uniform and a designated teacher and mother figure.

Now, she's seven and she's taken from her cell room, strapped down by a nylon seatbelt surrounded by scruffy teens and sent to a distant planet she only knew from horror stories.

Kyren tries to forget her sister exists as it's easier that way. She tore her family apart from birth leaving her father's high up presence become nothing but a whisper among the Ark.

When Abby Griffin, a friend, rushing it to inform Kyren there's been a mix-up and Demi ended up on dropship to Earth, she begrudgingly helped her and Raven Reyes on building another ship to go down to the radiated planet in hopes of finding the kid.
