The Western Holy Church has always disliked monsters, but they don't typically act out violently towards them unless provoked. However, for a certain species, this did not hold to be true. Lola is one such monster, the last survivor of her kind.

She longs for a world in which she can live peacefully without threat of discrimination, prosecution, and certain death. Until that becomes possible, Lola is taken in by the Dryads, specifically Treyni, as a sign of solidarity between Fae.
