The fire destroyed everything except her will to keep going.

The world ended in fire.
New York is nothing but smoke, ash, and the desperate cries of survivors.

Evyn Nyssa should have died with her family, her friends, and the life she once knew-but fate left her breathing. Now, with only her fiancé Jackson at her side, she must cross a city where bridges are guarded by killers, riots rage in the streets, and hope is more dangerous than hunger.

Armed with a kitchen knife, a smuggled war relic, and her own fierce determination, Evyn chooses to fight for more than survival-she chooses to fight for love, faith, and the chance of a future far beyond the burning skyline. But in a world where trust can get you killed, and compassion is a liability, every step north may be her last. In the ashes of civilization, Evyn must decide: will she let the fire consume her-or will she carry its light into the dark?

Elsuon - The Stonecutter's Son (Part I - Book 1 | Unabridged) by Elsuon
8 parts Ongoing
"There is in the East, beyond the trick-spirits of the Sea of Pleats, a most-strange country. One that all who hear of it agree has lost and gained more than any kingdom in any place since the world first fell to the riot of those Old Disloyals." And so opens Elsuon. Two hundred years after a powerful sorceress, an undying queen, and a light-taming saint established a quivering truce in the Eastern Fortunes, a talented architect by the name of Branadan and his son Allesson enter the mysterious country of Nymiria. In Stormscale, the capital, a hard-as-nails Archduke prepares for war. As the centuries-old truce (formally known as the Passion of Aeolain) comes to an end, the seven great families of Nymiria contend for the Archduke's daughter, who, being of age before the law, must take a lord. If she marries, it is one war; if she doesn't, it is another. Other dangers are gathering: witches (Black Cast) who work twisted miracles; saint-despising separatists (Aeolistopalians) mobilizing near the Perch of the Gorgons; barbarians (Abareeds) on the march from the Sky Anvils; the Old Horde (Ghul Maraud and Puck Trolls) amassing in the Valley of the Moonseeds; and a foreign banking cartel (the Wounded Reliance) lead by a savior turned dark; and the arrival of a beautiful traveler from beyond the Keel of Stars. The final omen: a strange mountain that has slowly turned for nine thousand years suddenly stops, angering the lightning-spraying, whale-hunting dragons (Karganoi) who have roosted there for millennia. All this and much more gamble for the soul of Nymiria and the young life of a stonecutter's son- Allesson. Or, as destiny regards him- Elsuon.

#1 romance fantasy #1Dragonlove, #2 Paranormal Romance highest rankings. Awards: Short list of Writers Recognition Awards Dark humor, justice, and love in the streets of New Orleans. Alex trawls the streets and alleys of New Orleans for pushers, pimps, and johns to beat senseless and leave naked in alleys. It's her revenge against the rapist stalking her. Morgan told her that he rescued her from the government agency that experimented on her and that she belongs to him. He had proven painfully to her that her new powers don't work against him. She escaped and her rage now falls on the others of his kind. Her goal is simple: take down the bad guys with her fun neuro-electric powers and snarky humor until one of them finally kills her. When she interrupts a mugging, she realizes that she's rescued a humanoid dragon from his hunters. But are his hunters the same one chasing her? The ones racing against Morgan to find her? Can this dragon and his brothers save her from her course of self-destruction? Or will they be dragged down her spiral of revenge and dark humor ? Note to reader : This book is not set in modern day New Orleans. This is a mixture of the New Orleans of my childhood, the New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina, and part fantasy. After Katrina, I needed some fantasy about New Orleans as well. The Ninth Prince - An Epic Fantasy Romance

6 parts Ongoing

When the last of the Old Origins ended the High Humans from the world, the dragons went silent with the elves. Centuries later, the silence begins to stir. Iryn had always been a girl of peculiar gifts - born without her kingdom's magic, yet cursed to hear the language of all things: beasts, wind, even lies. Raised at court beside her childhood friend Prince Dimitri, she once believed her place was fixed - until a stranger from a foreign land and dreams of golden eyes followed her from the flames. When Reiss, a guard from the fiery kingdom of Trishüdel - or so he claims; appeared in her court reminding her of past memories - danger starts to stir. But the ember in his gaze burns too old, too knowing. And when dragons return to Boirl in whispers through white fire, Iryn's cursed blood may be the key to why. Caught between a prince bound to duty and a man bound to secrets, Iryn is drawn into a dangerous inheritance that could unmake her world.
