Black fills my vision as I try to move forward.
My legs feel limp and heavy, each step growing harder than the last.
My arms stay glued to my body. I try to rip them off of myself but they don't budge. The hard floor pulsed like a heartbeat beneath my feet. A silhouette moves at the end of the tunnel and I squint my eyes, trying to figure out what is going on.
As I go to take an other step, my leg doesn't move. I look down at the concrete floor in confusion. The grounds seems so far away and out of reach.
Feeling dizzy, I look back up and the tunnel i'm currently standing is so long and dark. So dark and only a small pinpoint light illuminates the room. I can't quite figure out where it's coming from or how it's there, considering there's no door. Or anything at all.
Two souls, united for a deal.
Damien Moreno, self made billionaire, illegal weapons and drugs dealer. All the power he wanted was in his hands, for all he wished for was brought to him on a silver platter. People worshipped him, hanging on his every word as if it would solve all their own problems. Money spilled out of his pockets and blood dripped from his hands.

She was mine long before she knew it.
I had been raised in shadows, in a world where power was survival and choice was an illusion. But then there was her. She slipped into my life unexpectedly and defiantly, her eyes too bright for a town like this one. She was unafraid of what lay beneath the surface, thinking she could walk away and resist the pull. But every step she took only bound her tighter to me.
She was delicate but stubborn, fierce enough to face what others ran from, even if she didn't fully see it yet. She was the only thing I had ever chosen.
I would break anything to keep her, everything, even her illusions of freedom. Because in a world that offered no choices, she became my one certainty.
I will carve that truth into the world, with blood, if I have to.
