Atatla Rain has lived her life on the edge for as long as she can remember. The pain is just a reminder of what she's lost, nothing more. Her family, her home, her love. All gone with the flames. She's found a group that trusts her, and that's all she needs. Other than her wolf companion, Sapphire, of course.

Zverkalk's life has been a mess. At least he has his only friend, Nylyl. Only, they run into a group of people who help them when they can't help themselves. The group lets them tag along, and they become like a little family. For the first time, people trust him, and he finds love and hope in the small group. For a while, he's happy.
Then, their world turns on it's head. The past finally catches up, and destroys the small community that they've built for themselves. Pain has been all they've known, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt. If they have any chance at rebuilding their life, they need to find a way to trust each other and, most of all, trust themselves. After all, there is beauty in the pain. You just need to find it.
